KI Supports Workspace Design Show

February 24, 2023

27th & 28th February 2023, Business Design Centre

After its debut in 2021, the Workspace Design Show makes its return in 2023 with the theme of ‘Destination Workplace’. This year will also feature the new ‘Bio Materials’ exhibition, giving visitors the opportunity to discover new ideas and materials that will become integral for future sustainable designs.

This year also showcases a ‘Change by Design’ lounge concept, which has been designed by major architectural practice, BDP. The space has been created to provide discussion about the impact of workplace design on the environment, and to give inspiration on how the issues of adaptability, reusability, recyclability, and recycled content can be addressed.

The main framework that separates the lounge will be provided by KI in the form of their modular shelving and gantry system, Colonnade. The highly customisable unit has been specified by BDP in RAL 3012 Beige Red and enables the lounge to be divided up into different environments, giving visitors the chance to relax, socialise, or have a quick meeting.

Other KI items used includes their Colonnade Cube stool, which has been specifically designed to fit in the Colonnade structure, and Grafton stools which will pair with a Zig table.

In keeping with the key theme of ‘Sustainable and Adaptability Workspace/Commercial Products’, all the suppliers involved (including KI) have measures in place to lower their impact on their environment.

Vantage Spaces will be providing a moss wall and planting to re-emphasise the importance of biophilic practices in the workspace, while Kvadrat fabric will be draped around the Colonnade in colours that complement the greenery, as well as the unit itself. Milliken will then provide the flooring, and Atrium, the lighting.
