KI House pop-up showroom at #CDW2022

KI House made its eagerly-awaited return at #CDW2022, once again standing out as an unmissable destination during the festival. The fabulous pop-up space at the landmark Paxton Locher House was transformed to convey the theme of 'renew, reinvent, revitalise' - blooming in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. KI's latest seating, table, storage & agile workspace products were displayed in striking finishes, enhanced with a bold floral installation by McQueens Flowers to emphasise the theme.

KI House brings together a vast array of collaborations & contributors, offering a multi-layered visitor experience.

Baraka Carberry (Bokiba)

Baraka Carberry (Bokiba) 

KI has commissioned young UK-based artist Baraka Carberry (Bokiba) to create the visual identity for KI House. The theme of 'renew, reinvent, revitalise' is embodied in explosions of florals and colour, drawing from the McQueens Flowers installation.

Baraka is a multidisciplinary artist, who loves working digitally. Her work connects back to her background in textiles, featuring bright, vibrant palettes emphasised by playful shapes and grounded in the natural world via floral representations.

Clerkenwell Dinosaur Hunt

Clerkenwell Dinosaur Hunt 

KI House was the launch site for the 'Clerkenwell Dinosaur Hunt'!

Created by British artist Jay Jay Burridge, this neon light sculpture made its Clerkenwell debut at CDW2022 - the first stop on its tour around the neighbourhood over the course of the year. Follow the dinosaur on Instagram! 

Dark Sugars Chocolates

Dark Sugars Chocolates 

The London-based chocolate brand with a cult following. Dark Sugars came to CDW2022 at KI House with a selection of their most popular vegan and non-vegan truffles which were served during our daily happy hours. Dark Sugars also hosted workshops at KI House for invited guests, who made a range of the most popular flavours to take home with them.

Fenix NTM Bloom

Fenix NTM Bloom 

The innovative & award-winning FENIX NTM® Bloom was displayed at KI House as both a table worksurface, and vertical surfaces on lockers and cupboard doors.

This extremely matte surface finish incorporates Bloom, a new sustainable core technology. With Bloom, lignin has been introduced to significantly reduce the amount of phenol included in the resin by 50%. Lignin is a natural polymer defined as the glue that holds wood fibres together.

Greenwich Gin

Greenwich Gin 

A timeless classic with a hint of unexpected elsewheres. Greenwich Gin is the perfect pairing between the finest British marine botanicals and the most enchanting accords from world travels. The flavour journey is one of ocean travel to discover unique and intriguing flavours from around the world, all underpinned by a classic London Dry base.

Greenwich Gin was served as the classic G&T, and a cocktail during KI House's daily happy hours. 

Innerspace Cheshire

Innerspace Cheshire 

Innerspace Cheshire work with KI to create beautiful moss, bark and other accessories for 800 Series Shelving and Colonnade. During CDW2022, they had a selection of products on display that can be integrated within KI products, or used elsewhere across a scheme. They also hosted a series of moss workshops for guests.

McQueens Flowers

McQueens Flowers 

McQueens Flowers brought their magic to Colonnade with a stunning floral installation at the centre of KI House. Flowing all across the Colonnade gantry in the atrium, these flowers were visible from all over the house. They embody the event's theme, symbolising the blooming of spring and the return of KI House to Clerkenwell Design Week after the pandemic-induced hiatus.

SMART Technologies

SMART Technologies 

As well as being the well-known market leader in education, SMART Technologies also offers an impressive array of interactive business meeting solutions.

With business-ready tools like TeamWorks 4, SMART elevates collaboration, enhances conferencing and enables remote working. Rediscover SMART at KI House during Clerkenwell Design Week, with the screen integrated into the Colonnade in the main atrium.  

Space Zero

Space Zero 

KI commissioned Space Zero to conduct research on the future of schooling over the next 20-30 years. The pandemic thrust hybrid learning into the mainstream, but there is a lot more on the horizon with the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, robotics, and the global employment landscape.

Space Zero shared their research and findings with visitors to KI House, with provocative discussions around hybrid and blended learning, its implications for the design of schools and campuses, and a need for savvy educators.

Sustainable Design Collective

The Sustainable Design Collective hosted a social & networking gathering at KI House on Thursday afternoon.

This think tank group is committed to acting as a collective within the workplace design community to identify developments and best practices relating to sustainability. The represents the full scope of the office design sector - architects, designers, manufacturers, suppliers & sustainability experts.

The Myers-Briggs Company

The Myers-Briggs Company 

Hybrid working brings specific benefits and challenges to organisations, including the impact on the post-pandemic office environment.

Psychologists and personality experts at The Myers-Briggs Company have conducted primary research on the impact of the hybrid working model across a range of respondents to help inform office design. At CDW, they shared their knowledge and findings.

Vectorworks

Vectorworks 

Vectorworks Industry Specialist, Kesoon Chance, hosted a series of Vectorworks training sessions, demos, and a design competition with a chance to win a £100 Amazon gift voucher and 1 hour's worth of 1-to-1 Vectorworks training. Vectorworks occupied the dropdown workspace on the mezzanine level of KI House.
