Idea Store Watney Market

The Brief

The flagship Idea Store in Whitechapel, designer by David Adjaye, redefines the traditional library concept. With seven Idea Stores across the Tower Hamlets Borough in London, these venues offer more than jsut library services. They provide a wide range of adult learning courses, extensive activities, and events programs, creating a vibrant community hub for all ages.

The Watney Market Idea Store, designed by Bisset Adams, features a bright and colourful space. Natural light floods the area through large windows, while bright lights from the exposed ceiling enhance the spacious and open feel. The collaborative areas are furnishing to match the lively interior colour scheme, making it an inviting place for learning and interaction.

Our Solution

To complement the vibrant and dynamic environment of the Watney Market Idea Store, KI supplied Postura+ stacked seating in Powder Blue, Lime Green and Tangerine Fizz – A bright feature in the children’s section of the Idea Store, Postura+ chairs were provided to complement the overall colour scheme.
