KI E.M.E.A reports record growth for 2022

April 19, 2022

KI is proud to announce another successful year of record sales and profits in the UK and wider E.M.E.A. (Europe, Middle East and Africa) with significant investments being made in new products, people, and sustainability initiatives.

Despite the global economic challenges, sales for 2022 for KI (UK) Ltd alone totalled over £23m. This is due, in part, to KI winning significant Workplace projects for a variety of social media, banking, tech, law, investment management, and professional service firms across the UK, as well as substantial growth in the Schools and Higher Education sectors, in which KI lead.

KI's customer base and dealer partners have increasingly trusted KI to support their project requirements in European locations, and 2022 has seen installations undertaken across Berlin, Zurich, Hamburg, Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Dublin, and Stockholm. KI is also a trusted partner of several global organisations who had significant growth across their offices throughout E.M.E.A, adding further to revenues for the group.

One of KI’s bestselling innovative products of 2022 is Colonnade. This modular shelving and overhead gantry system is completely customisable and allows designers to create flexible, user-controlled open plan architecture in workspaces. This has helped companies to adapt and remodel their offices to create more collaborative spaces that support hybrid working.

Building on this, KI’s legacy of providing high-quality, durable furniture for educational institutions has meant a surge in demand from the schools and academies segment along with some promising pick up in universities too.

KI continues to be the UK’s leading provider of educational seating and reports the biggest growth in the education market in its history with over 500,000 chairs and stools sold last year. This includes the long established Postura+ chair which has now begun a transition to a circular economy, with all one-piece chairs of every colour manufactured containing at least 30% recycled polypropylene. Following over 3 years of trials and testing, this achievement sets an important milestone on KI’s journey towards taking a leading position in the circular economy using waste plastic from the food industry in the UK-based supply chain. Through this initiative approximately 600 tonnes of waste plastic will be fed into the standard production process per year, which is equivalent to over 2,000,000 food containers per annum.

KI is committed to ensuring we make a positive impact on the planet. Investment in new products, technology, research, product development, and training for its employees all has sustainability central to it. KI continues to make significant investments in its people, with a focus on hiring and training the best talent in the industry to help drive the company forward as trusted experts offering furnishing knowledge.
