Cleeve School selects KI’s Grafton chairs for new teacher training facility
The new Cleeve Training Hub opened in September 2021, welcoming its first intake of trainee teachers to its brand new £1m facilities. Based at Cleeve School and Sixth Form Centre of Excellence, the purpose-built centre conducts courses for primary, middle school and secondary teachers across a range of subjects.
Being within the school campus, trainees have access to the wealth of knowledge, experience and the support of Cleeve School staff, as well as experts from other schools, universities and teacher training providers. The building is light and airy with five teaching rooms, two of which can be turned into one large space with its retractable walls. Integrated audio-visual equipment can be used to support training and collaboration, whilst the flip-fold tables and stackable Grafton chairs allow for quick and easy room layout reconfiguration.
KI’s Grafton chairs were selected for their comfort, stackability and elegance. The school’s classrooms feature KI’s iconic Postura+ chairs, but it was felt this new facility should have a more sophisticated aesthetic. The stacking chairs were selected in Blue Grey polypropylene with Silver Grey metal frames. The seatpad was then upholstered with a blue vinyl to enhance comfort whilst being easy to clean. The colours selected match the school’s overall colour palette and branding.
Zoey Holland, Interiors Business Design Manager at Robert Hall commented, “It’s been such a great experience working with both KI and Cleeve School to create a new training hub. The space will play a vital role for local schools so it was important that the furniture was spot on. In this case the Grafton chair was the perfect addition and the teachers cannot praise it enough for its comfort and good-looks!”
