What's the Ruckus about?

The challenge
Today’s education environments are required to support ‘active learning’. Maker-centred and project-based learning models are replacing linear, more traditional instructor-based lessons to deliver innovative curricula. The result - students need to be able to freely engage with their teachers, their materials and each other.

The research
KI conducted extensive research with students, teachers, administrators, maintenance and educational furniture suppliers to gain a broad perspective when designing the perfect solution for today’s learning spaces. This research confirmed that movement, flexibility, and comfort are paramount.

The solution
Introducing Ruckus – KI’s new seating solution for learning environments. It is not so much an evolution as a revolution. It looks like nothing else. It can be used like nothing else. It optimises flexibility, movement, engagement, and connection. Ruckus is a unique approach to facilitating movement – it is designed for the student to move within the chair, rather than the chair being moved by the student. It allows the student to sit how they like and quickly reorient themselves to where they need to direct their attention. This has been proven to enhance concentration, retention, and engagement with materials, tools, instructors and fellow students.
