KI’s furniture facilitates collaborative working at Rainbows Children’s Hospice

Located in Loughborough, Rainbows is currently the only hospice for children and young people in the East Midlands and has since 1994 been a place for life-limited children and their families to go for support and a higher quality of life.

Blueprint designed the office with an open plan layout in mind; creating a space which highlights functionality and allows for easy collaborative work amongst staff.

Andrew Ball, Rainbows’ director of income generation, comment:
"Improving our working environment will lead to an increase in productivity and cohesiveness across our fundraising and communication teams. This, in turn, will enable us to better support our donors and funders and work closer together to secure more supporters into the future."

The given brief was to focus on these aspects which made KI’s products an obvious choice. The Connect3 benches, in white tops and understructures, were chosen to perfectly compliment the open plan layout. The back-to-back Connect3 workstation lends itself well to this project, with its clean lines and versatile nature.

Pinnable T-Series screens with mounted accessories, including pen trays, A4 paper trays and whiteboards were fitted to maximise practicality and utilise all space available. The screens were finished with Camira Phoenix fabric in five vibrant colours: Parasol (blue), Tarot (dark purple), Apple (light green), Solano (yellow) and Belize (red). These bright shades all help the charity reflect their namesake.

"We’re extremely grateful to KI for the support they’ve given to making our new offices both functional and visually attractive. The desk and belonging screens that they provided in a range of different colours helps to reinforce the Rainbows brand as well as provide a focal point for the different teams in our open plan office. Our new office furniture is a world away from what we had before and is already contributing to a much-improved working environment and this in turn will mean we can increase the fundraising income we achieve to fund the work of the hospice."
