The Brief
Dana Petroleum's new 37,000 sq ft headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland was designed by local architectural practice JAMstudio to accommodate up to 250 people. JAMstudio were briefed to create an environment which would reflect the philosophy of a forward-thinking energetic company like Dana; a space that was a delight to work in and an office interior that would lift, energise and enliven their staff.
The 1980s grey stone building with small windows, previously occupied by Centrica, desperately needed light and colour. JAMstudio selected a variety of colours and used these for each floor of the office to enable visitors and staff to differentiate which floor they were on.
Our Solution
UniteSE Workstations - Bespoke UniteSE management desks finished in American Black Walnut were used in the Executive areas, with UniteSE benches and desks installed in the main office space. Some of the positions at the benches are height adjustable, which allow for flexible working whilst offering a range of options that can be tailored to specific modern day workplace requirements. The understructure of the UniteSE Workstation range provides a sturdy modular platform for the addition of multiple worksurface and screen options. Screen panels were also customised to match the colour palette selected for each floor level.
UniteSE Storage Systems - The UniteSE Storage System was tailored to meet the client’s requirements. Lateral and personal storage which has been developed upon the successful design and engineering platforms of KI’s world proven 800 Series system, UniteSE storage systems are available in a range of heights with a range of drawers, acoustic sliding doors, cupboards, smart lockers, pedestals, perforated panel options and keyless locks.
Faveo task chairs - Faveo task seating has been used to compliment the UniteSE Collection. Faveo’s softly curved mesh back provides optimum ergonomic support.
Marie-Louise Dunk, Director, JAMstudio LtdKI were a natural choice as the high quality of the products and the flexibility of the storage solutions lent themselves easily to this project. The installation was carried out in a very professional manner in less than an ideal situation on site, which saw KI having to work around a delayed main contractor. The client is delighted with the fit out and the bench desking in particular, as are we. We would have no problem in commending KI to other specifiers – their professionalism and attitude are second to none.
