Steve Kelly is one of the UK’s leading sculptors working with reclaimed materials. He graduated from St Martin's School of Art and has a Master’s Degree from Goldsmiths.
Steve now spends most of his time in East Yorkshire but retains a studio on the North Norfolk coast. His work is influenced by the sea and its power to transform and disguise anything in its wake.
By working with raw materials, wood, steel and concrete he captures this ability to disguise the origins of a material and invites the imagination to invent a history for it. In each sculpture there are tangible elements of a previous existence.
Steve has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions throughout East Anglia and in London since 1976. He is a member of Norwich Twenty Group and his work can be found in private collections throughout Europe.
